Worcester bin lorry crash victim named Sylvia Russell

A 69-year-old woman who died after she was hit by a refuse lorry in Worcester has been named by police.

West Mercia Police said she was Sylvia Russell, of Dent Close, Worcester.

She was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by the lorry in The Shambles near the Argos store, just before 09:20 BST on Monday. No other vehicle was involved.

Police are appealing for any "friends or family" who saw her on Monday morning to get in touch.
