Malvern link bridge fall: Woman faces suicide bid charge

A woman has been charged with assisting the attempted suicide of a woman who was seriously hurt after falling from a railway bridge.

The injured woman is in a serious condition in hospital after falling from the A449 Worcester Road onto rail tracks on Wednesday evening.

A 28-year-old Malvern woman has been charged with assisting the attempted suicide of another person.

She is due to appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court.

The woman was arrested and later charged with the offence at Worcester police station following the incident.

Rail services were briefly stopped on the Worcester-to-Hereford line after the fall.

West Mercia Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Det Insp Mark Loader on the 101 police number.
