Evesham and Hereford shoppers are targeted in map scam

Police have issued a warning following two directions scams which took place in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

On Thursday, a man asked a woman for directions outside Morrisons in Commercial Road, Hereford, as she was getting into her car.

She later realised that three bank cards were missing from her purse although no money was taken.

A similar scam occurred outside B&Q in Four Pools Lane, Evesham, on Wednesday with another woman shopper.

A police spokeswoman said: "We want people to be aware of this scam and under no circumstances leave their car unlocked if asked to give directions under these circumstances or if they are distracted."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
