Pershore aerospace industry suppliers sold
A Worcestershire business supplying the aerospace industry has been sold after going into administration.
The sale of Pershore-based Blade Tooling and Blade Technology to Gardner Group Limited would secure 60 jobs, administrators KPMG said.
It added six redundancies from Blade Tooling Company Limited were made by administrators.
Gardner Group Limited, based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, said the business was trading as Gardner Blade.
Joint administrators were appointed before Christmas and continued to trade the Worcestershire business while actively seeking a buyer, KPMG said.
It added Blade Tooling Company Limited employed 58 people and Blade Technology eight people.
Will Wright, joint administrator at KPMG, said: "This is a great outcome for the business which has a good track record but has found itself in difficulty due to the tough trading conditions brought about by the recession."
Gardner has six manufacturing sites in the UK and two in Poland.
It described Blade as an organisation specialising "in the manufacture and supply of complex aerofoil tooling, ceramic cores and wax mouldings to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets".
Gardner Group Limited announced it acquired the trade and certain assets of Blade Tooling Ltd and Blade Technology Ltd from the joint administrators.
