Bromsgrove man charged over charity box thefts

A man from Worcestershire has been charged over the theft of four charity collection boxes in Bromsgrove.

Charity boxes for The Poppy Appeal, Help for Heroes, Water Aid and Midlands Air Ambulance were stolen from a church, pub, hairdressers and hotel.

The man, aged about 20 from the Bromsgrove area, was arrested on Friday over the thefts which happened between October and November.

He is due to appear before Redditch magistrates on Tuesday.

A second man who was also arrested on Friday was released after questioning. Police said no further action would be taken against him.
