Free parking bid 'to boost trade' in Worcester

Drivers are being offered some hours of free parking in Worcester in a bid to boost trade in the run up to Christmas.

There will be free parking in city centre car parks from 1800 GMT every Thursday until 23 December.

Meanwhile, Sunday shoppers will be able to pay for two hours and park free for the remainder of the day between 14 November and 2 January.

Worcester City Council leader Simon Geraghty said it would "hopefully give a real boost to the local economy".
