Lead stolen from Worcester cathedral


Lead valued at up to £2,000 has been stolen from the roof of Worcester Cathedral.

The metal was stripped from three different places on the roof and lead piping was also removed.

The thefts took place some time between Friday morning and Tuesday lunchtime. Anyone who saw anything suspicious has been urged to contact police.

West Mercia Police said inquiries were ongoing and patrols were paying particular attention to the cathedral.
