A shoplifter has made his escape from at least eight thefts in Worcestershire using a stolen moped.

The man escaped on a 49cc moped after stealing steaks, cigarettes and alcohol from shops in Evesham and Pershore.

West Mercia Police issued CCTV images of the man who has worn a distinctive crash helmet and orange sunglasses.

A police spokesman said the force believed it was the same man and he "periodically travelled between the two towns".

The thief has been seen riding and parking a £300 black Yamaha EW50 (Slider) which was stolen from St Patrick's Close, Evesham, on 15 September.

The thefts were all carried out in September at various times of the day.

The thefts include 10 rump steaks taken from the Co-op in Swan Lane, Evesham, on 21 September and 600 Benson and Hedges cigarettes taken from Tesco in High Street, Pershore, on 27 September.
