An office block has been severely damaged by a fire near Portsmouth.

The blaze broke out at Nxtera, on Waterberry Drive industrial estate in Waterlooville, just after midnight.

It took six fire crews and specialist units about four hours to tackle. The first floor of the building was gutted and the roof destroyed.

Two members of staff were in the building when the fire started but no-one was hurt. The fire did not spread to neighbouring buildings.

The directors of banking compliance firm Nxtera said the blaze was caused by an electrical fault.
