Man arrested after fatal suspected hit-and-run crash near Farnham

A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected hit-and-run crash in Hampshire in which a woman died.

The 43-year-old pedestrian, from Surrey, suffered serious injuries and died on the way to hospital following the crash on the A325 near Farnham on Wednesday evening.

A 54-year-old man from Liss was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop at, and report, a road accident.

He has been bailed until 5 May.

The crash, also involving a car and motorbike, happened near the junction of Binstead Road in Alice Holt Forest at about 17:25 GMT.

The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while investigators inspected the scene.
