Man, 71, arrested on suspicion of Hampshire murder

A 71-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found with lacerations to his head at a house in Andover.

Malcolm Cox, 84, from Bell Road, was discovered just before 08:30 GMT on Tuesday and taken to the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke.

He died the following day and a 38-year-old woman from Andover was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Now the 71-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the crime.

The woman was released on police bail until 7 March.
