Michael Freshwater death: Police make tenth arrest

A tenth person has been arrested in connection with the death of a man found stabbed in Southampton.

The body of 49-year-old Michael Freshwater was found at a flat in Westridge Road, just after 16:15 BST on 29 April.

Police said the 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A 16-year-old boy from Kent arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday has been bailed until June 21.

Ashton Singh, 26, charged with perverting the course of justice following the death, appeared at the city's magistrates' court on 3 May and was remanded in custody.

  • Man, 22, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs - bailed until 5 July
  • Woman, 23, arrested on suspicion of two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs - bailed until 6 July
  • Man, 24, from London, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs- bailed until 6 July
  • Man, 25, from Hampshire, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert course of justice - bailed until 6 July
  • Woman, 30, from Southampton, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice - bailed until 10 June
  • Man, 36, arrested on suspicion of murder - bailed until 2 August
  • Man, 43, from Southampton, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs - bailed until 5 July
