'Downton Abbey' closed after Storm Katie damage
The home of TV series Downton Abbey has closed because of flooding and power failures caused by Storm Katie.
Staff at Highclere Castle - where the programme is filmed - said the decision to close the attraction was "unprecedented and disappointing".
It comes after the site's annual charity Easter egg hunt was also cancelled due to the wet weather.
Those with bookings are advised to contact the ticket office for alternative dates to visit the site.
A statement said: "Storm Katie has caused power outages, flooding and considerable debris from falling trees and branches across the estate.
"This is unprecedented and we are very sorry. Those with tickets should not travel and should organise a refund."
The castle, which has been closed for two days, is expected to reopen on Wednesday for advance ticket holders only. Normal services are due to resume on Saturday.
