Man taken to hospital after Liphook power cable crash

A man has been taken to hospital after his car left the road and took out an 11,000-volt power cable.

The 73-year-old driver is being treated for a shoulder injury at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 17:45 GMT on Saturday to the A3 northbound near Liphook.

A spokesperson said: "A vehicle had left the road and was on its side down an embankment. The vehicle had also taken out a 11,000-volt power cable."
