Southsea kidnap arrest after man thrown in sea

A man has been arrested after another man was abducted from his home and then thrown into the sea.

Police said the victim was attacked and taken from Beach Road in Southsea on 28 February by three men.

The 59-year-old, who received minor injuries during the abduction, was forcibly driven to a cash machine in St Catherine's Street.

He was then taken to Clarence Esplanade where he was thrown into the water shortly after 03:00 GMT.

The 35-year-old from Southsea, being held on suspicion of kidnap, remains in custody.
