Andover cyclist in critical condition after hit-and-run

A cyclist has been left with life threatening injuries following a hit-and-run in Hampshire.

A 46-year-old man from Andover was hit by a vehicle near the Folly Roundabout, Redon Way, Andover, at about 00:45 GMT.

He was found lying in the road by a passing motorist who called the ambulance.

Sgt Adrienne Jerram said: "The victim has been left in an extremely critical condition in hospital and his family are with him at his bedside."

She added: "We need to trace the vehicle that hit him and the driver as soon as possible. I'm now appealing for help from the public in tracing the vehicle."

Road closures were put in place on the roundabout, Raydon Way, Charlton Road and Western Avenue.
