Georgina Edmonds rolling pin murder trial jury retires

The jury has gone out to consider its verdict in the trial of a man accused of the murder of a pensioner who was beaten to death with a marble rolling pin.

Georgina Edmonds, 77, was found dead at her riverside home near Eastleigh, Hampshire, in January 2008.

Matthew Hamlen, 36, from Bishopstoke, has pleaded not guilty to murder at a trial at Winchester Crown Court.

Mr Hamlen was acquitted of the crime by a jury after a previous trial in 2012.
