Portsmouth man dies after car accident near Southwick


A passenger died and another sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling in left the road in Hampshire.

A 19-year-old man from Portsmouth was killed when the silver Nissan Almera left the road on the B2177 near the junction with Pitymoor Lane, Southwick.

An 18-year-old man from Emsworth was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened at 23:15 GMT on Saturday. Two men have been arrested.

A 24-year-old and 21-year-old, both from Portsmouth, are being questioned by Hampshire Constabulary on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
