Southsea New Year's Day murder victim was 'sensitive soul'

The family of a man found dead in Portsmouth on New Year's Day have described him as a "sensitive soul" with a "good heart".

The body of Christopher Butler, 27, was found at a flat in Waverley Road, Southsea in the early hours of Friday.

Police have been given more time to question a 32-year-old man arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder.

A man, 33, and a woman, 23, from Portsmouth, also arrested on suspicion of murder have been bailed.

In a statement his family said they were "devastated" by his loss.

They added that he loved football and always tried hard to please people, saying "we miss him and his ways".

Hampshire Constabulary said post-mortem tests carried out on Friday had failed to establish how Mr Butler died.
