Southampton 'cyanide attack' student trial set
A college student accused of plotting to kill non-Aryans in a cyanide attack will stand trial in December.
Mark Colborne, 36, appeared via videolink at the Old Bailey earlier charged with preparing a terrorist act.
He was arrested in June when counter-terrorism police searched the home he shares with his mother in Butts Road, Sholing, in Southampton.
His trial was set for 8 December. He was remanded in custody ahead of a plea hearing on 27 October.
He is charged with engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to section 5(1) of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Mr Colborne is alleged to have possessed chemicals to produce cyanide.
His trial is expected to last up to two weeks.
