Michael Fallon replaced as Portsmouth minister in reshuffle
Michael Fallon has been replaced by Matthew Hancock as minister for Portsmouth, six months after being given the role.
Mr Fallon has been promoted to defence secretary in the government reshuffle.
Mr Hancock, MP for West Suffolk, also takes on the portfolio of minister for energy and business enterprise.
The role of minister for Portsmouth was announced in January after the government decided to move Navy shipbuilding from the city to Scotland.
The closure of the city's BAE Systems yard will cause the loss of more than 900 jobs.
Portsmouth is the only city in the country with a dedicated minister.
