A303 crash: Family tribute to Alexander Ridge

A driver who died in a collision between a car and a lorry in Hampshire had an "an amazing ability to see the best in everyone", his family has said.

Alexander Ridge, 40 from Farnborough, was driving a Dodge Nitro 4x4 on the A303 at Bullington Cross on Thursday morning when the crash happened.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A statement released by Mr Ridge's family said: "He will be desperately missed by his whole family and all his many friends."

"Alex was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He had an amazing ability to see the best in everyone and always tried to help anyone in need," it added.

The HGV driver, a 42-year-old man from the West Midlands, was not injured in the crash.
