The family of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on the M27 near Southampton have spoken of the "devastation" of their loss.

Robert Simmonds, 49, from Havant, died in a collision with a skip lorry near junction five westbound on Wednesday.

A 50-year-old lorry driver from Southampton arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and failing to stop has been bailed.

Mr Simmonds, from Blackmoor Walk, died at the scene.

In a statement, his family said: "Rob was an experienced motorcyclist and loved to live life to the full.

"He will be missed by everyone who knew him."

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses. to the incident which happened at 06:40 BST when Mr Simmonds' Suzuki Bandit was in collision with a high-sided skip lorry.
