Wi-Fi installed in south Hampshire £7m bus revamp
One hundred and fifty buses in south Hampshire are to be refurbished with enhancements such as Wi-Fi.
Money from the Department for Transport will also go towards the installation of LED lighting, next-stop audio visual systems and 16 new apprenticeships.
Dawn Baxendale, director of economic development at Southampton City Council, called the benefits "endless."
Transport for South Hampshire successfully bid for £4.5m which goes towards a £7.3m improvement scheme.
"Not only will this help to relieve the congestion on our roads, it will also help to reduce CO2 emissions" Ms Baxendale added.
