Conservation trust saves Hartley Wintney Church

A neglected Hampshire church has been rescued by the Churches Conservation Trust, of which chef Loyd Grossman is the chairman.

St Mary's in Hartley Wintney which dates back to the 13th Century and features medieval wall paintings, will be preserved through the trust.

Conservation work at the parish church will be carried out including cleaning and recording gravestones for an online family history website.

The trust works to prevent churches falling into disrepair and encourages alternative uses for disused buildings.
