Woman and man arrested over Totton pub fire

Two people have been arrested by detectives investigating a fire which destroyed the roof of a Southampton pub last summer.

The blaze broke out at the Red Lion in Commercial Road, Totton, at about 2340 BST on 29 August 2010.

The 45-year-old woman and 20-year-old man, both from Totton, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit arson.

They were released on bail until 6 April while investigations continue.

Almost 50 firefighters tackled the overnight blaze, which also severely damaged the first floor.
