Royal Navy sailor denies rape of colleague

A Royal Navy sailor at a court martial hearing has denied raping a colleague.

Engineering Technician (Marine Engineering) Kenni Dinnell is accused of raping the woman at an accommodation block at Portsmouth Naval Base in July.

Mr Dinnell, who previously served on board the Type 42 destroyer HMS York, appeared before the court martial at the base, known as HMS Nelson.

Judge Jeff Blackett adjourned the case for a three-day trial to start on 22 February.
