Solent body found off Isle of Wight


A body has been found in waters of the Solent off the Isle of Wight.

The body was brought ashore at West Cowes by an RNLI lifeboat and police launch after officers were called at 1140 GMT.

Hampshire police said it was unclear how long the body had been in the water or if there were any suspicious circumstances.

Detectives have not yet said if the body is that of a man or woman. An investigation is under way.
