Cheltenham murder inquiry after stabbed teenager dies
A teenager has died after being stabbed in the stomach, prompting police to launch a murder investigation.
The 17-year-old boy was attacked at a property on Shakespeare Road in Cheltenham at 20:20 BST on Sunday.
He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in a critical condition but died on Monday morning.
Police said they were working on a "number of active inquiries" to trace the offender, who was "believed to be a man".
Det Insp Ruth Mather said: "We understand the concern this prompts in the local community but at the moment it is too early to provide any answers about the circumstances as we are still following up a number of inquiries."
