Three arrested in Cirencester in child sexual exploitation probe

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with children.

Police said a 23-year-old man and two male 17-year-olds, all from Cirencester, were being questioned.

They were arrested as part of an investigation by the county's multi-agency Child Abuse Investigation Team into child sexual exploitation.

Det Sgt Nigel Hatten said: "We take any allegation of the sexual exploitation of children very seriously."

"The Child Sexual Exploitation team has worked extremely hard together with partner agencies tackling sexual exploitation, to proactively pursue the concerns resulting in the arrests today," he added.
