A bronze sculpture has been stolen from an art gallery in Cheltenham prompting an appeal to help trace it.

The limited edition piece, offered for sale at £1,950, was taken on Tuesday afternoon from the Castle Fine Art gallery on the Promenade.

The sculpture is called by Timberlyne and was created by Craig Davison.

"Due to our robust security systems thefts from our galleries are thankfully rare, though do happen on occasion," a gallery spokesperson said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gloucestershire Police.
