A man who caused an explosion at his estranged wife's house in the Forest of Dean has been jailed for four years.

Kenneth Brown cut the gas pipe at his wife's Coleford home and ignited it, after she left him for another man.

Brown, of Gloucester, previously denied causing the explosion, claiming it was the work of two men who attacked him.

The judge at Gloucester Crown Court said the 43-year-old, of Park Road, was a risk to public safety, and will also serve two years parole after release.

Brown was also convicted of damaging a neighbour's car, parked on the road outside the house.

The explosion happened on 13 February.
