A man has been rescued after falling from a cliff at a Wye Valley beauty spot on the Gloucestershire border.

Rope rescue teams spent more than two hours in the Wintour's Leap area attempting to reach the man before getting him into a waiting ambulance.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said the man had been injured in the fall, shortly before 15:00 BST, but the extent of his injuries were unknown.

The area is called "the gem of the Wye Valley" by one rock climbing website.
