Cheltenham stabbing: Man remanded into custody

A man has appeared before magistrates charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was stabbed in Cheltenham.

Kane Sean Owen McConnon, 22, of Colne Avenue in Whaddon, is also accused of illegal possession of a knife.

He appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Thursday and the case was sent to Gloucester Crown Court.

Mr McConnon was remanded into custody. His next appearance in court will be on 13 September.

Police were called to a report of fighting outside a property in Thames Road in Whaddon on Tuesday afternoon.

A man, believed to be 26 years old, was found with stab wounds and other injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
