Engineering firm Renishaw reports 'record results'
A Gloucestershire engineering firm has announced "record results" in the last six months of 2010.
In 2009, Renishaw, based in Wotton-under-Edge, shed more than 300 jobs and staff were put on a four-day week after sales fell drastically.
In December the company announced it was creating 125 new vacancies in 2011 after a turnaround.
The company now says in the six months to 31 December, total group revenue was 75% ahead of the previous year.
In the interim report released on Wednesday, Sir David McMurtry, the company's chairman and chief executive, said: "Total group revenue for the six months to 31st December 2010 was £129.3m, 75% ahead of the £73.9m for the corresponding period last year and, more significantly, 26% above the previous highest first half year revenue of £102.7m reported in 2009."
