An accident between a lorry and a van on the M5 in Gloucestershire caused major delays for traffic on Friday morning.

The crash happened on the southbound carriageway, just south of junction 13 between Stroud and Falfield.

Two lanes were closed, causing long tailbacks and heavy congestion on surrounding roads as motorists attempted to take alternative routes.

Police said there were no injuries. All three lanes are now open.
