One killed and two hurt in Gloucestershire crash

A man has been killed and two others injured in a car crash on the A419 near Stroud in Gloucestershire.

Police said the grey Peugeot 306 cabriolet is though to have left the Ebley bypass at about 1745 BST on Wednesday, and crashed into trees.

The 32-year-old driver, from Minchinhampton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two 23-year-old men, from Dursley and Stroud, were taken to Frenchay and Gloucestershire Royal hospitals.

A Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesman said the man taken to Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol, suffered critical injuries.

The road was closed for about eight hours.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
