Warning after device found at Cheltenham cash machine

People who used a cash machine at a Cheltenham supermarket at the weekend are being urged to check their bank balances after a suspected fraud device was found.

Security staff at Morrisons in Up Hatherley spotted what was described as an irregularity and alerted the police.

The device has been removed for examination and officers have begun an investigation.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact police.

Crime Prevention Officer Paul Francis said: "The member of security staff did exactly the right thing by reporting the machine to us.

"We hope this encourages others to do the same if they have any concerns that a cash point is not as it should be."
