Police want to speak to a suspect in the murder of a man who was stabbed in the leg.

The victim, who is yet to be named, was found injured at an address in Roots Hall Drive, Southend, shortly before midnight on Thursday. The man, in his 30s, died in hospital.

Essex Police said the force wanted to speak to Ian Slater, 49, whom they believe is still in the town.

A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Det Ch Insp Stuart Truss said police had "been able to build up a picture of what led up to the assault but we still need anyone with information to come forward".

He appealed for witnesses and CCTV or dashcam footage, adding: "It doesn't matter how small or insignificant you think it is, it could be vital to our investigation."
