There are "severe delays" on the M25 in Essex following a vehicle fire, Highways England has said.

The van fire started on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction 26 for Waltham Abbey and junction 25 for Enfield at about 06:40 GMT.

The four-lane carriageway was closed while Hertfordshire and Essex fire and rescue services extinguished the fire.

Highways England said all lanes re-opened after 09:00 but delays tail back past junction 27 for the M11.
