Armed raiders break through locked door of Dunmow bookmakers

Two masked men armed with a knife held up a bookmakers and escaped with a four-figure sum of cash.

The raid at the William Hill branch in High Street, Dunmow, Essex, happened just after 21:30 BST on Saturday, Essex Police said.

The raiders broke in through a locked front door and threatened a woman staff member with a knife.

They fled in the direction of North Hill leaving the woman, aged in her 20s, shaken but uninjured.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious or who may have seen the men getting in to a vehicle nearby.
