Man charged with murder after stabbing in Basildon town centre

A man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Basildon town centre.

Daniel Mitchell-Monroe, 37, of Pitsea, was found stabbed in Market Pavement on Tuesday evening.

Ambulance crews airlifted him to hospital where he later died.

Joram Bakumanya, 22, of no fixed address, was arrested and has been charged with murder. He is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
