Hythe Hill pensioner stabbing: Girl, 16, among four charged

A 16-year-old girl is among four people charged in connection with the stabbing of a pensioner in his back garden.

John Sales, 70, was stabbed in his face, chest and back in the attack in Hythe Hill, Colchester, Essex, on 10 November.

Essex Police said Ryan Hynes, 20, of Long Road, Lawford, had been charged with attempted murder.

He also faces a charge of conspiracy to commit murder, along with the teenage girl and two other men.

Flash Ashley Day, 45, of Rose Allen Avenue, Colchester, Scott Moffat, 49, of Colchester Road, Manningtree, and the girl - who cannot be named because of her age - are due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court, along with Mr Hynes, later.
