Sible Hedingham shooting: Two men arrested over burglary

Two men have been arrested by police investigating an attempted burglary where the householder was shot in the leg through a bedroom door.

Raiders broke into Grade ll-listed The Old Rectory in Sible Hedingham, Essex on 6 February but fled empty-handed.

The men, aged 27 and 23, both from Sible Hedingham, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary.

The victim was left with "life-changing injuries", said police.

The two suspects were taken to police stations in Braintree and Chelmsford for questioning.
