Third man charged with murder of 67-year-old man

A third man has been charged with the murder of a 67-year-old man found dead in his flat.

Albert Williams died of internal injuries at his home in Southend, Essex, on 8 August.

Simon Smith, 40, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and two counts of burglary at Mr Williams's address.

Anthony Smith, 43, of Westcliff, and Ismail Celik, 34, of Grays, have been charged in connection with the murder.

Mr Smith has not entered a plea in connection with the charges. Mr Celik denied the charges.

Both are next due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court in April.
