Nine treated after chemical leak at Nazeing nursery

A chemical leak at a vegetable storage facility resulted in nine people suffering "ill effects", a fire service has said.

Crews were called to Tylers Cross nursery in Nazeing, near Harlow, Essex, at 10:30 GMT, after a refrigeration unit leaked chemicals.

Four women and five men were treated by paramedics, a fire service spokesman said.

High levels of carbon monoxide were detected in tests, he added.

Crews have started ventilating the building.
