Two teenagers are still being held in custody in connection with the murder of a 24-year-old man in Southend.

Essex Police have been given more time to question the 16-year-olds from Thurrock and Basildon.

A post-mortem examination revealed the victim, from Dagenham in east London, died from a stab wound. He was found dead at a flat in St Ann's Road.

A 22-year-old Southend man and a 19-year-old man, from Southwark, have both been released without charge.

The victim was found on Wednesday along with a second man, also aged 24, who had also been stabbed.

Police have said he remains in hospital in a stable condition.
