Essex pinstripe-suited burglar sought

A masked man wearing a pinstriped suit and wielding a golf club held a woman and three children at bay while their house was ransacked.

The man and three accomplices came through the unlocked back door of the house in Haig Road, Grays, Essex at about 18:10 GMT on Wednesday.

Essex Police said the white mask had a tear under one eye.

Mobile phones, an iPad and cash were taken. No-one was hurt in the raid and police have appealed for information.

The masked man blocked a doorway preventing the woman and children from moving, but told them he would not hurt them, detectives said.

He is described as being white, 5ft 10in tall, wearing a white mask with a tear under one eye, a dark blue pinstriped suit with a waistcoat and a pink tie with the word "Baileys" underneath the knot.
