West Hanningfield murder charge after caravan death

A man has been charged with murder after a man died a week after being attacked in his caravan in Essex.

Ronald Mayne, 69, was taken to hospital with head injuries after being found at a caravan park on Bakers Lane, West Hanningfield, on 27 February.

Garry Poore, 75, originally held on suspicion of assault, was charged with murder after Mr Mayne died.

Mr Poore, of Stock Road, Billericay, is due before Chelmsford Crown Court on 14 May.

Essex Police said he had been remanded after appearing at two courts earlier.

Mr Mayne's daughter Debbie said he was a "beautiful man inside and out" and was "deeply sensitive, loving and caring".
