A 24-year-old man accused of murdering a woman while her child was in the house could stand trial next year.

Kirsty Humphrey, 23, was found dead in Queen Elizabeth Way, Colchester, in September.

Tests showed she died of stab wounds to her neck and chest. Mark Czapla has been charged with her murder.

Mr Czapla is yet to enter a plea and was not in court when Chelmsford Crown Court was told a trial in the case could be held next March.

He was remanded in custody until 17 March.
